The Big Birthday Party

So I am almost a week late, but our week has been very busy. Last Saturday June 6th we had the girls birthday party at Larry's Pizza in Bryant, Arkansas. It was a lot of fun, but very busy. There ended up being 43 people that came to their party. We ate pizza, cake, opened gifts, played in the arcade, and enjoyed company with friends and family. The girls racked up, getting a lot of stuff; several toys, 11 books, 2 puzzles, sippy cups, plastic plates and bowls, clothes, money and gift cards. Ok enough explaining, I have lots of pictures to tell the story!

This was their extremely cute cake. By the way, if you live in the Bryant/Benton area Harp's Grocery story makes the BEST cakes and has a great whipped icing.

Nana feeding Lexyn some cake.

Brittyn enjoying her cake.
Enjoying their new sippy cups even though they were empty!
Opening gifts and reading books.
This was one of the girl's NICU nurses. She just happened to come into the restaurant at the right time. It was really neat to get to see her again and it be at their birthday party. She is the NICU nurse that helped us do a lot of firsts with them - first bath, first bottle feed, and first family of 4 picture when Brittyn got off the vent. She was very special and loved our girls. When they moved out of her unit she would go to their room on her break to see them.
An attempt at a family picture!

The girls playing together on their piano after the party. They had eaten so much cake and had lots of excitement that day, that they were not having a nap.

They had a great first birthday party. I can't believe they are a year old. Now that all the excitement is over, I am allowed to fall apart, right? I am excited to see what this next year holds, but I am sad to see the baby stages pass.
