Memorial Day 2010

Thanks to all those who have served and those who are currently serving for our country. A special thanks to my husband!

We had a fun relaxing Memorial Day at home enjoying some family time. My mom brought my niece over and the 3 girls played outside for over 3 hours. They had a blast swinging, swimming, running, sliding, and eating fudgesicles. I love days at home when my hubby is there to play and help out as well.

Papa's headphones

My dad was working on his praise and worship song list when we made a quick stop by their house the other night. Brittyn wandered her little self into the living room to find her Papa. She somehow managed to get him to put his headphones on her ears so she could listen to the music. She thought she was BIG stuff! She sat so still and if we took the headphones off she quickly told us to put them back on.

Papa always has such cool toys!

12 weeks pregnant

18 weeks pregnant....the day we found out 2 GIRLS!

20 weeks in Montego Bay, Jamaica on our cruise

20 weeks and 2 days....formal dinner night on our cruise.

20 weeks...my horribly painful swollen feet after walking around on the cruise

25 weeks and 2 days....Mother's Day, May 11, 2008

2 short years ago at 8:15pm tonight at only 29 weeks and 1 day, Baby A-Lexyn's water broke.
I had been on half day bed rest since I was 24 weeks pregnant. At the time I was laying on the couch watching TV. After we snapped out of the initial shock we quickly packed a bag and headed to the hospital 30 minutes away, where my doctor was waiting on us. That was the beginning of a very LONG and rough 42 and a half hours on Magnesium before an emergency c-section. I can't believe it has already been 2 years!

Bye Bye diapers

As Lexyn says, "bye bye diapers....big girl panties."

On Friday May 21st we threw away our diapers and began the dreaded process of potty training! I followed Suz's advice and tried the 3 Day Potty Training Method. It was very rough and stressful the first day. I kept wiping away my tears as I wondered if I had started something way too early. But by the second day we had already cut our accidents in half. And then on the 3rd day we only had 2 accidents total. We aren't completely done with the training because we still have an accident here and there but today is day 4 and we have only had 1 accident. We do, however, wear Pull-ups at night time. I tried to follow the books directions on training at night but we changed the sheets several times the first night; and every time we woke the girls up to go potty they sat there and cried to go back to bed. So for now, we are just slowly working on night time by eliminating liquids an hour and a half before bedtime until we can wake up dry. Besides the girls still sleep in cribs so they can't really get out of bed to go potty without help.

Considering the girls don't turn 2 years old until June 2nd, and they are already wearing dry panties all day, I think we are doing GREAT! It was a little bittersweet to say "bye bye diapers" but it will be nice to save that money, and have that dreaded process behind us.

We also followed Suz's idea by putting down a tarp in the playroom. Thank goodness we did, it was a carpet saver for sure!

Reading Out Loud

I have caught the girls reading out loud the past several days. I think it is so funny that they can say almost everything you ask them to now, and speak clearly and even in phrases, but when reading out loud they speak their OWN language that is totally not understandable!

Bowling Fun

Friday night we decided to take the girls bowling for their first time. They had fun pushing the ball down the lane, running back and forth, and watching the red light go off as they would cross the fowl line. They enjoyed it until about the 8th frame they got done with it and were ready to move on. But they never really got bad fussy, so it was a nice enjoyable family outing. It is hard to find things that we can do as a family because the girls are young and don't have a long attention span, but bowling is very cheap and was a success in our book. I am sure we will be going back soon!

Mommy's Day

My Mother's Day was a very full but good day. We joined my mom at her church, and then cooked lunch for my mother in-law at her house. We all left and went home for naps, and then went to Outback Steakhouse for dinner with my family. Ben surprised me last weekend with a porch swing to put on our back porch, and then today I received a card that was also drawn on by my babies!

Miss Brittyn was NOT in the mood today! She was grumpy grumpy (been saying she was getting sick for the past week because she hasn't been herself) Trying to get a picture with her was extremely stressful. This is as good as it gets.

This morning Ben got the girls undressed and diapers changed. When I came in to get Lexyn dressed, she was saying "mommy's dayyyyy, mommy's dayyyyy." So sweet and melt my heart. I can't believe she is old enough to talk. Happy was a little harder to get out but that is fine I will take "Mommy's day"!

My Babies aren't really babies anymore!!!

The girls LOVE to swing, and have since we brought them home from the hospital at 6 weeks old. It amazes me how much they have grown in just 23 months, and how much they have learned to do.

Brittyn in her infant travel swing at 2 months old.

And now....... my babies are swinging outside really high on their big kid swings. I can't stand it, I need them to slow down and be my babies!

Where is Brittyn?

Lexyn says "whes sissy?"
Daddy says "I don't know, where is sissy?"

Lexyn says "in dere!"
Yes, she sure is in that Pampers Jumbo pack box!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!

I just realized that exactly one month from today, these tiny sweet innocent sleeping babies will be 2 years old! I will have two 2 year old daughters!!!

I think I am going to need some great advice as well as lots of prayers to make it through!

For real, 2 YEARS OLD!

Where has time gone?

We have some fun party plans in the making, and can't wait for all of Lexyn and Brittyn's friends to come swing by and celebrate with us. Can you guess what our theme is going to be?
