Shortly after a huge storm in Branson last weekend (everything from strong winds to hail to flash flooding) we walked out of a store at the outlet mall and saw this full beautiful rainbow. I have never seen a full rainbow that stretches from one side of the sky to the other side. I was amazed. We serve a creative God, one that is not simple, and one that keeps his promises!

"I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life." Genesis 9:15

This week is National Infertility Awareness Week

(An awareness that hits close to home)

15 months of no success on our own, 16 months as a patient with a diagnosis of unexplained infertility, 5 cycles of clomid, 3 failed tries of artificial insemination ********* 1 Almighty God that heard our cries and answered our prayers giving us 2 miracles that will be 2 years old on June 2nd.


I have living proof that there is HOPE.




We have been down that long lonely emotional road of infertility.

I had spent many days and nights crying, wishing, hoping, praying, and planning to be a mother. I fought with jealousy and anger; "why me, why us, why is she able?" God sees the bigger picture but we struggle with giving it all to him and just trusting in him and HIS timing.

After we decided to take a 2 month break and pray and seek his guidance; the funds and insurance coverage became available for us to proceed to the next step, IVF. We were then blessed with 2 healthy heartbeats on our first try. God's timing is the best!




For those who are waiting on HIS timing; I am praying for you. I have prayed over a long list for many months and seen 171 rejoices documented. If you are on the long lonely road of infertility, you are not alone. There is hope, just have faith in his timing!

"For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

What do you see????

Lexyn and Brittyn LOOOOOVE to come to the pond in our neighborhood and see the "quack-quacks." Today when I got them out of the car they spotted something. Can you figure out what they saw?

The geese were hissing at us, because...........momma was trying to protect her BABIES!

For the past 2 or 3 weeks when we were down at the pond, daddy was walking all over hissing at us if we even looked his direction. We finally realized momma was sitting on her eggs. Well they finally hatched, and now momma and daddy are hissing at us because we got too close to their cute babies. The girls loved seeing the "baby quack-quacks".

They finally got irritated enough at us that they all lined up and swam to the other side of the pond. Lexyn kept saying "bye bye baby quack-quacks!"

Mini-Vacation weekend

This past weekend we took a mini vacation to Branson for 3 days. It was nice to get away and enjoy time as a family and with Larry and Kelly who met us up there. We stayed at a hotel that had an indoor pool so we could swim with the girls. They were scared when we got in and wouldn't do anything but fuss and scream as long as they were in the water. There was about 10 other teenagers in there that were splashing and making loud noises so I think they scared my girls. Lexyn and Brittyn did however enjoy walking around and stomping in the water that was on the floor. We did some shopping on Saturday while it was raining and storming off and on; then Sunday we went to Silver Dollar City. It was the girls first time to be at an amusement park. There wasn't really a whole lot they could ride, actually only 3 rides total, but they still enjoyed sitting with Kelly and watching for mommy and daddy on the bigger roller coasters. Lexyn was terrified of the rides except for the train. She would scream and clinch tight onto my shirt as soon as we got in line, so she only rode the train where all of us rode together. The train ride was a fun 20 minute ride through the park and woods. In the woods the train came to a stop and we watched a skit put on by some train robbers. One of the robbers came to the open window where Brittyn was leaning out, and she gave him five. Most of the time that child has NO fear. They were both so tired the entire time we were there but would find some energy now and then and get excited about things. We had a great time, and can't wait to go back when the girls are 36 inches tall so they can ride more rides!

There is a new area with a ride called the barn swing. While we were waiting on daddy and Larry to ride it we found a pretend cow to milk, that actually squeezed out water. Lexyn was again scared of it, but my NO fear child loved it.

My exhausted girlies fell asleep before we even got out of the parking lot. They were so worn out from not having a good nap all weekend, staying up really late, and being off schedule. So tired that they slept from 10:30pm Sunday night when we got home until 2:00pm Monday afternoon!

Sissy NO-NO, Sissy NO-NO

After putting in a whole new box of baby wipes, I leave the girls unattended for a few minutes in their bedroom while I go wash my hands after changing diapers. When I come back in, yes you guess it, they had gotten the box of wipes out of the dresser drawer and pulled every single wipe out of the box! I looked at them and said, "Lexyn and Brittyn that is a NO NO!" Lexyn immediately jumps up and walks a few steps away and says "sissy no no, sissy noooo noooo." I couldn't help but laugh as I informed her that she did a no no too!

I have proof.








This is the dresser drawer WITH a childproof cabinet lock on it. My girls keep seeming to outsmart me and all the childproofing we do.

Where have I been?

It's been a while since I blogged, but not by choice. I have had a crazy week.

1. My computer was in the shop getting fixed from a virus I got from a lovely hacker off of facebook! Finally I got it back yesterday and it is working like new.
2. Friday Brittyn woke up from her nap at 3:00 running a 102.6 fever. The nurse got us in for a 3:30 appointment with the doctor to find out her ear infection from last week is healed up but now she has strep throat. We just can't seem to catch a break at our house. It is one sickness to the other!
3. Sunday evening Lexyn came down with strep throat. Of course Brittyn has to be nice and share because we have really been working on that.

In the meantime, the weather has been awesome here so we have continued to enjoy our new playhouse swing set.

We are leaving Friday morning for a little mini vacation to Branson with Aunt Kelly and Uncle Larry. The girls are going to their first amusement park, Silver Dollar City. I hope the weather stays nice and that the girls feel better to enjoy our time away together.

Happy Birthday (a little early)

Ok, so Lexyn and Brittyn don't actually turn 2 years old until June 2nd, but we knew we were getting them a nice swing set and I wanted it early so we could enjoy it before it gets to hot outside. I had been searching all over the Internet and at local stores for the best one for the amount of money we had to spend. When we came across this deal, we were sold! The girls absolutely LOVE it. Brittyn can't get enough of the spiral tunnel slide. They both hopped on the big swings by themselves, and even climb the ladder. Of course, we aren't far behind them on the ladder but they think they're big stuff doing it by themselves.

It also has a picnic table with bench seats below the covered fort, and Lexyn found it to be a great spot to sit for a few seconds while eating her chicken nugget.

Has to Bring a Smile

A little background behind this video - Lexyn is pulling on a rubber band that is being used to keep the closet doors closed because last week they opened it and climbed on top of the file cabinet inside, after they pulled almost every sheet of paper and file out of it.

Yes, Lexyn did keep saying "so funny". Then when the rubber band broke she asked "where go" and Brittyn replied "in dere". They are really getting a big vocabulary. Seems crazy to be able to ask them something and usually get an understandable response.

They had the best time pulling on the rubber band, and I had the best time listening to those priceless giggles! Hope everyone has a great day, and if not watch the video again. Hearing those belly laughs has to bring a smile to your face.

Easter 2010

We had a great Easter. After church we enjoyed a good meal at my in-laws with everyone there including my parents. It was nice to all get together at one time. It allowed all the grandparents and Aunt Callie and Uncle Zach to be able to watch their girls first egg hunt. The weather wasn't bad out so we spent a lot of the day outside playing and running in their backyard.

The girls were so fun to watch and hunt eggs with. We have never practiced hunting eggs but somehow they knew what to do and knew that there was candy inside each one. Lexyn would pick up as many eggs as her arms could hold, about 4 or 5, before she would finally empty them into her basket. Brittyn on the other hand, could care less about the egg. She would pick one up and open it, get the candy out, throw the egg down and run off with the candy so that we couldn't take it away from her. It ended up being a game for her to run from us. They were cute and had the best time.

They both loaded up. Aunt Kelly brought over her Easter basket and gifts for the girls Saturday night. She got them some cookies, candy, huge balls, plate, cups, and matching utensils, Little People horse carriage with castle building blocks, some stuffed bunnies and ducks, a few books and a pop-up tent. Neno and Papaw (Ben's parents) got them an Easter basket with an etchasketch, magnadoodle, plate, stuffed duck and cotton candy. Ben and I got them some chocolate, cotton candy, ring pops, stuffed duck, dried apples, rice krispy treats, bubble gun, and plastic golf club and ball. And their Gamma and Papa (my parents) decided to hold their Easter basket until this week so that they could spread out the gifts since they had already gotten so much.

Neno bought the girls a cupcake covered in icing. After lunch we stripped them down and let them enjoy. Brittyn dug in hands, mouth and all. Lexyn was a little more worried about getting her hands dirty, so she dug in with her mouth. It was so funny to watch them enjoy the cupcake but then they hated having dirty hands.
