Ferry ride

On our way home from Florida we took a detour to Fort Morgan. We rode the ferry from Fort Morgan, Alabama to Dauphin Island, Alabama. It was so neat and a nice 45 minute ride out of the car. We boarded the 7:15 ferry so it was during the gorgeous sunset. We also watched about 6 or 7 dolphins swim and play right by the side of the ferry. The detour was well worth the added hour and a half.

Lexyn's new trick

Lexyn learned a new trick while we were in Florida swimming our hearts out. She can jump, with our help of course, and go under the water without choking. She has learned to close her eyes and hold her breath. We would count one, two, three, and she would jump in. Although she normally jumped on two but still, she could go under the water and not choke at 14 and a half months old. I told you she is part water bug.

Florida Vacation - Part 2

I was really wanting to get some good family pictures. I bought us all outfits, not the traditional white because white pales my girls out, but we did red and yellow. I thought it turned out cute, except for the fact that someone forgot to teach my girls how to sit still and look at the camera and smile!!!! I think my favorite is the one below, where we are all walking away from the camera. It turned out really good, no squinting eyes, and you can't tell who is smiling or not. I think it is also priceless how Lexyn is looking up at her daddy. She has really become a daddy's girl this week having him around all day everyday.

Again, there are LOTS of pictures below. Sorry, I am just not good at narrowing them down.

My Favorite, I will probably blow this one up to hang on the wall.

notice NO smiles from the girlies

Ben and I on our balcony. We had a great beach front view.

Lexyn and me

Gamma and Lexyn, again no staged smile!

We went to eat out at the Back Porch, in Destin. It was right on the beach and had slides. Lexyn and Brittyn LOVE to slide. It was a great time killer as we waited for our food.

Happy Brittyn, chilling in the car

Daddy and his girls

The girls weren't too sure about this pirate that was walking around at one of the restaurants.

Lexyn was excited about her food arriving.

Brittyn too

Another family picture attempt, again NO smiles from the girlies.

My sweet hubby and me

Brittyn's curls.

Family picture on the balcony. You can see a little glimpse of Brittyn's personality! She is a mess.

We grilled out for dinner one night. Ben grilled shrimp and fish.

Lexyn, I think this is one of my favorites of her.

Brittyn, the girl HAS to taste everything her hands touch. I will be glad when we finally outgrow that.

Again, Brittyn is a mess!!!! She started putting her fingers in Lexyn's mouth to get her food.

Daddy and Brittyn

The whole gang. My mom (Gamma), my dad (Papa) holding Lexyn, me holding Brittyn and Ben.

This picture is a little dark but I love seeing the clear blue water in the background.

Florida Vacation - Part 1

It has been a little over a week since my last post because we have been enjoying a much needed family vacation. We spent a full week in Fort Walton, Florida on the beach. It was so nice. The weather was awesome never getting above 92 degrees with low humidity. It was the first time the girls have been to the beach and seen sand. They LOVED it. Lexyn is definitely part water bug! Brittyn had a blast sitting on the edge of the water and playing with a bucket and a shovel. Neither one of them minded the sand at all. Because we did so much, and took 1000's of pictures, I am going to do several posts dividing the pictures out.
This first post is of all the fun water, waves, and sand time we had.

Fair warning, LOTS OF PICTURES BELOW!!!!

Gamma and Brittyn playing in the sand.

The girls playing with their buckets. Lexyn wanted Brittyn's bucket every time. She really just wanted to dump the water out. We made many trips to the water to fill our buckets.

Lexyn waving

playing with my girls

walking Lexyn down to the water

Lexyn wanted so bad to let go and walk in the water by herself. She just wasn't able to keep her balance from the waves.

Daddy and Brittyn

Excited Lexyn

Brittyn and her bucket

daddy and Lexyn enjoying the water

Ben and me, notice the clear water. It was so pretty and clear, and a blue green color.

Gamma and Brittyn playing in the sand. Brittyn would fall down in the sand a lot when she was walking down hill to the water, so she found it easier to just scoot on her booty. Notice the long booty path behind her!

Ben got to enjoy a few scuba dives with my dad. That is his favorite part, to see the under water life. In this picture he is holding a sea cucumber.

I love this picture. Brittyn and daddy looking at the water.

Again, daddy and Brittyn looking at the water.

Lexyn and I playing in the water.

Brittyn was so excited to be standing in the water by herself at the pool.

So, so cute! Lexyn's little foot prints in the sand.

Sorry for so many pictures, but I just couldn't pick out a few. I did actually narrow it down to this many!!! We had a great time, and the girls did really good to be out of their routine and surroundings. They even did pretty good on the drive down and back. Thank goodness for DVD players in the car.
Up next, our attempt at posed pictures many different times!
