Fun at the Fair

This past week the fair was in town. We have been taking my niece for the past 3 years but this year we had our own girls to take too. We had a good time. The whole gang ended up coming out; Gamma and Brinlee went with us and then Nana and Papaw showed up a little later. It's crazy how having a kid changes everything. You find yourself getting excited because you are doing something to help them have a fun time.

First we visited the petting zoo. Poor little Lexyn. I am not sure what her problem was, but she was scared, like screaming and crying and hiding her face scared, of all the animals. It started when we looked at a sleeping pig. Then everything from then on scared her. When we walked through the chickens, roosters, and rabbits, we were standing in a line and one of the chickens chirped at us, and that was all she could stand. She was already screaming but when that happened she started shaking and then buried her face in my shirt. We had to hurry up through the animals. We did get out and calm her down some and then went back to the petting part and tried to let her touch the soft chicks but she just wasn't having it.

Brittyn on the other hand, didn't mind at all. She petted the soft bunny.

After the petting zoo we headed out into the rides so that my niece could ride. She was so excited, that is all she wanted to do, ride some rides!

First we all got on the Carousel. After the petting zoo experience and realizing we had a chicken on our hands, I wasn't sure Lexyn would go for the ride, but after calming her and assuring her it was ok she sat on a horse. She loved it until the ride actually started moving. Then she freaked out, but I just held her tight on the horse and continued telling her it was ok. She then started liking it and began talking to everything. When it came time to get off, both Lexyn and Brittyn threw a fit. They didn't want off, they decided they like it.

That was it for the rides for my girls but they strolled around and watched as Brinlee enjoyed riding several more with their daddy.

The girls also got their first try of cotton candy, and LOVED it! They weren't real sure at first what we had just put in their mouths, so they just kind of let it hang out some, but after getting a good taste they were begging for more.

Looks like you guys had lots of fun! We don't have pets and this week we are housesitting for my aunt who does have a dog. Madelyn just loves watching the dog...kinley on the other hand does not. She cries when the dog comes near her...she has not minded other dogs in the past but she is not a fan of this one.
