Our hopes of waking up feeling better Christmas morning didn't come through! I woke up feeling worse, and Brittyn was still running 101 temp, had a nasty cough and both girls had horrible runny noses. But that didn't stop us from having the best time we could! The girls were so much fun to watch this year. They were really into opening gifts, especially Brittyn. She helped open EVERYONE'S gifts!
First walking into the living room after waking up.
Lexyn checking out what Santa put in her stocking.
She got a new cell phone, and I believe it was one of her FAVORITE toys ever. It was in her hand all day!

She got a new cell phone too, and some pencils and paper. The girls are really into drawing and coloring these days, and they think they are BIG stuff with their mechanical pencils that in their eyes are pens!
Lexyn putting her new baby doll to bed in their new baby doll bunk beds Santa brought.
Brittyn and daddy playing her new fishing puzzle, notice phone in hand!
Lexyn is such a good little momma. She loves baby dolls right now.

After our crazy day lazy year we decided we were going to start a new tradition of staying home with just our family to enjoy time together and do our Christmas. It was so nice this year not having to get up and be anywhere until noon.
After our relaxing morning at home as a family of 4 we headed in to Ben's parents for lunch and Christmas with them. We spent several hours at their house enjoying family time. We choose not to go over to Ben's grandparents house at 2:00 this year because we were all so sick. We didn't want to spread our germs to the entire Brown family; so we hung out at Neno and Papaw's house for an extra hour and half.

Sweet excited Lexyn with her new purse and backpack
Brittyn opened a new piano. She loves music making toys.
After enjoying a great lunch and several fun hours at Neno and Papaw's we headed home to take naps and begin preparing dinner for my family to come to our house. That was something new we did this year and I loved it! It was nice to finish the night up and already be at home with all our new toys.

Gamma found an awesome toddler coloring book. It is a water filled pen and the picture turn color as the water touches it, then when finished it dries and goes back to black and white for later coloring! We have been really enjoying our "paint"!
The girls big gift from Gamma and Papa this year was their Tinkerbell four-wheelers. They LOVE them, although they have a little bit of learning to do on how to drive them and not run things over, they love being on the go!
We had a great Christmas aside from all the sickness in our household (that we still have a week later); spent lots of time with family; and everyone racked up.
